Can someone help me? The figure below shows two congruent triangular parks. What equation would help you to solve for the side length of BC and EF? Explain your reasoning using complete sentences.

@KamiBug

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

you are told they are equal triangles, so sides must be equal ---> 3x-15 = x-1 solve for x

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

btw the triangle is not drawn to scale at all lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be like this...x + 5 or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or x - 5

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

i dont follow you sorry what have you learned about algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't really remember much from algebra but this is geometry

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yes well unfortunately they assume you remember some of algebra that you learned last year ok algebra is all about isolating the variable to one side of the equation the rule is what you do to one side you must do to the other side you can combine like terms but you cannot combine "x" terms with constants i will walk you through this one... ill draw it out
