8th grade linear equation help? Medal+Fan+Testimonial for best answer! Please help quick! You are planing a camping trip. The campsite you want to rent charges a $15 fee plus an extra $3 per day. So the linear equation to represent the total cost is y=3x+15, I think (correct me if I'm wrong). Now I need to "find the intercepts and interpret them." How do I do this?
@wio @Kainui @jigglypuff314 Help?
Your equation is correct. :) It's in the form y=mx+b where b is the y-intercept (15). Recall that the x intercept is when y=0. So to find the x-intercept, substitute 0 for y in your equation. I'm not sure what it means by "interpret them" but maybe it wants your to explain why those are the intercepts in this situation. :P Hope this helps! ^.^

I'm sorry gimme one second please
Back! Okay so, um, I haven't really done anything with x-intercepts before. Would the x-intercept be -5? Or not
Yes, it would be -5. Good job! :)
