A writer wants to make the following claim: Columbus Day celebrates the destruction of Native American cultures and should be replaced with a more appropriate holiday. Which answer makes the most logical and precise counterclaim? We have always celebrated Columbus Day, and that shouldn't change because it offends a minority. Columbus's journey required great courage and determination, qualities we should celebrate. The focus of Columbus Day should be about his accomplishments regardless of the negative aspects. Columbus allowed the Native Americans to stay in the New World so it shouldn't be an issue.
