A roller coaster passengers are suspended upside down as it moves at a constant speed through a vertical loop. What is the direction of the force that causes the coaster and it's passengers to move in a circle? What provides this force?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Circular motion is the result of a centripetal force. Centripetal force acts inward towards the center of the circular path. With that in mind, I think it's fairly straightforward to see what would be applying this force in this situation.
