V= A*h (where V is 1/3 of the total volume)
304= 42.6 h
h= 304/42.6 = 7.136
3h (because we want the height of the vase, not the water line) = 21.4

Yes, what you had was correct. This works regardless of whether its a right or oblique triangular prism.
