For number 5 I would say the second answer is the best. One is not that good because first you must distribute the n-1 but you dont know what n is so 2 is a better answer!

For number 4 I believe the third answer is the best because it cost him 10 + 3.5s and he earns 45s. If you subtract 3.5s from 45s you would get 41.5 as the profit, but you sill have to subtract the 10 (rest of cost) from it. Since it 41.5 has a variable you cant just subtract so it would become 41.5s - 10.
