Well, looks like A contains 2 clauses. 1st clause is independent, and the other is subordinate. So I wouldn't really call it simple, would I? B is just incorrect, due to a lack of a comma. C is connected with a conjunction, and therefore is not a run on sentence... but "this and that" type of phrase, as I sometimes like to call it. I would choose C. D is certainly very compound... even puzzling.
OMg i thought C too but i then it says "from outer space" and i didn't know if that was true or not
