Suppose your business makes high-grade PDAs, personal digital assistants. It costs you $80,000 a month for fixed costs, such as rent, employee salaries, and other essential items. Also, it costs $300 to make each PDA, called a unit. If you are able to sell each unit for $500, how many PDAs do you need to sell to break even? Let x = the number of units y = the cost/income (expense/revenue) in dollars Cost Equation: total cost = fixed cost + (cost to make each unit) • (# of units) Income Equation: total income Please help me! I'm so confused

if you don't mind me asking what grade math is this ? :)

i hope someone helps you :)

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Well this should be basically easy as it can get once I give you this equation.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

80000+300x=500x

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Solve that for the # of pda

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Clear?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Well I actually have to start my own work, so I'll finish it for you. You have 80000 as the fixed price+$300 per pda to make. To even that income you get $500 per pda. 80000+300x=500x Subtract 300x 80000=200x 400 pda's to balance it out.

If this helps you, feel free to pass a medal :)
