Help pls (easy medal!!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

most times theres a question that goes along with the question (;

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

\[4+17p=-4(-3p+\frac{ 1 }{ 2 })\]

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

p is -1.2

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

when i do the -1.2 on the left side it equals 24.4, but not on the right side.

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

am i doing something wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one second, i need to do the math

Nnesha (nnesha):

they gave you the value of p ???

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

well i figured out the value, which is correct, but when i put in -1.2 both sides don't equal the same.

Nnesha (nnesha):

first you have to distribute bracket

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it should equal the same, what steps are you doing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hes right, you need to distribute first. did you do that?

Nnesha (nnesha):

multiply -3p by -4 and then 1/2 multiply by -4|dw:1417586845825:dw|
