Is the group of words a simple sentence, a compound sentence, or a run-on sentence? The desert is dry, very little rain falls there. A. simple sentence B. compound sentence C. run-on sentence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b. compound sentance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you please explain @krazykat ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a simple sentence has just one part, but if you see the coma with more of then sentence after it it is a compound. that means that they could be two separate sentences but they where combined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its not compound its a run on because compound would have and, but , or yet before the comma its run on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm yes but to be a compound in my book it says that it has to have a conjuntion. I don't think that a comma counts as a conjuntion, so I thought it would be run-on...
