Been playing the guitar for awhile now and I'm getting pretty good at playing chords but I wanna learn how to do some picking and all the songs I've tried are too hard so I was wondering if anyone knew any songs that are good to start for picking?

just do simple scales, make yourself a pattern and practice that. stick to basics before you jump to songs. keep it up!

First things first. Ive played guitar for the past 4 years and picking isn't easy. I stuck with chords first. Learn as many chords as you can. Even if your getting pretty good, you have to get pretty great before you go onto picking. There are no easy picking songs. It all depends on your sense of rhythm. Practice a small, not complicated pattern that you can think of yourself. Then put chords to it. Once your able to transition between chords easily without it messing up your picking, try something harder, or try harder chords. It all comes with time and practice.
