What is the measure of a base angle of an isosceles triangle if the vertex angle measures 38° and the two congruent sides each measure 21 units?

This is something that would be really easy for me to do if i had a picture. I'm thinking you subtract 180-38=142 Then you would divide 142/2=71. But since I don't have the picture I don't know what the 21 units is for. Sometimes they do that to trick you and sometimes you need that for the equation...
