Generate the first 5 terms of this sequence: f(1) = 0 and f(2) = 1, f(n) = f(n - 1) + f(n - 2), for n > 2. 0, -1, 1, 0, 2 0, 1, 1, 2, 3 0, 1, 2, 2, 3 0, 1, 1, 2, 2

@lizz123

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

f(1) = 0 <---- -- 1st term is 0 f(2) = 1 <------ 2nd term is 1 f(n) = f(n - 1) + f(n - 2) ^ nth term, any term that is, is whatever 1 term before was \(f_{n-1}\) plus whatever 2 terms before it was \(f_{n-2}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0, -1, 1, 0, 2 0, 1, 1, 2, 3 0, 1, 2, 2, 3 0, 1, 1, 2, 2 soooo its D?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well... what did you get for the 3rd term?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\large { \begin{array}{llll} term&value \\\hline\\ 1&f(1)\implies 0\\ 2&f(2)\implies 1 \\ \quad \\ \quad \\ {\color{brown}{ n}}&f({\color{brown}{ n}})\implies f_{{\color{brown}{ n}}-1}+f_{{\color{brown}{ n}}-2}&{\color{brown}{ n}}>2 \\ \quad \\ \quad \\ 3&f(3)\implies f_2+f_1\implies 1+0\implies 1\\ 4&f(4)\implies f_3+f_2\implies ?\\ 5&f(5)\implies f_4+f_3\implies ? \end{array} }\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait wait I'm so confused ;( @jdoe0001
