y=(2/5)x + 30

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

what are you needing to do

OpenStudy (unanimoose):

What are they asking you to do?

Heya there!! \(\Huge\cal\color{blue}{Welcome~to~Open~Sudy!!}\) Since you are new here feel free to look at this tutorial for new Open Studiers!!! http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/543de42fe4b0b3c6e146b5e8 ^^ What does the question want? Slope? y-intercept? @abeiswanger1 @~ace_chambers~

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Ugh didn't mean to tag you @~ace_chambers~

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Sorry about that lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's cool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for x-intercept

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

to find the x intercept, sub in 0 for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can I see an example please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Two sites that can help you. 1.) http://www.wolframalpha.com/ 2.) https://www.mathway.com/

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

y = 2/5x + 30 0 = 2/5x + 30 --- subtract 2/5x from both sides -2/5x = 30 --- divide both sides by -2/5 x = 30 / (-2/5) x = 30 * - 5/2 x = - 150/2 x = - 75

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y= \frac{ 2 }5{ x+30? }\] finding slope, x-intercept and y-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you, I've always struggle with math bad
