What do you think you will do first?
@Aethelswith Please do not give out direct answers.
since it says that is jolly or a leprechaun i have 36 jolly hobbits, 11 jolly leprechauns and 12 grumpy leprechauns and i don't how to work the formula with 3 events @sleepyjess
First you need to add up all of the hobbits and leprechauns.
74 that wil be the total and wait if I'm right then i need the total of the jolly and leprechauns that will be 59 so it will be 59/74 = 0.747? (the answer need to be in decimals) @sleepyjess
Find the probability that person randomly selected is jolly or a leprechaun = jolly+leprechaun/total
it's 59/74 = 0.747 cause i have 36 jolly hobbits, 11 jolly leprechauns and 12 grumpy leprechauns @sleepyjess
Ok, so you need it in decimal form? Or percent?
decimal so that will be the answer can you help with another one if two household are independently selected, what is the probability that both have income in the $30,000- $39,999 range? Income 0- $9,999 6% $10,000-$19,999 9% $20,000- 29,999 13% $30,000-$39,999 28% $40,000-$49,999 18% $50,000-$59,999 17% $60,000 or more 9% when they give the chart i get confuse @sleepyjess
