Okay, so there is two weeks of time (total time for everyone staying at the hotel) and you want to find when there was potential for no families staying there
you should start by looking at the two families with the lowest time spent in the hotel
it's asking which night had only one family staying
there's callan at 5 and liu at 6
ya, I'm wrong try starting at day one with the largest family I know how to get the answer, but it'd take time explaining & gtg
I got my guess but have a feeling it is wrong what I did was lay out the nights the families stayed. J- 1-10 2-11 3-12 4-13 5-14 C- 1-5 2-6 3-7 4-8 5-9 6-10 7-11 8-12 9-13 10-14 E- 1-8 2-9 3-10 4-11 5-12 6-13 7-14 L- 1-6 2-7 3-8 4-9 5-10 6-11 7-12 8-13 9-14 B- 1-8 2-9 3-10 4-11 5-12 6-13 7-14 Then crossed out the days that the families could have possibly started staying so all on day 1 was crossed off until none had days in common
Sorry if that doesn't help confusing way of looking at it but i got 10 being C was the only family that started that day
