There are 4 long jump athletes already on the Bikini Bottom Olympics team. Squidward wants to be the fifth. The only way he can make the team is if his mean of jumps falls in the range of 6.4 feet – 7.5 feet. His jumps are the following: 6.2ft, 7.3ft, 7.0ft, 6.1ft. What is Squidward’s mean? A. 26.6 ft B. 6.65ft C. 6.2ft D. 7.0ft

@NoelGreco

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mean = Average. Do you know how to find the average?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the average you add up all of the jumps. So 6.2ft, 7.3ft, 7.0ft, 6.1ft. Add them. 6.2 + 7.3 + 1.0 + 6.1 = N Now how many numbers did you add? Let that be X. Now divide. N/X = Mean

@SmokeyRiver

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

please calculate the sum \[6.2+7.3+7.0+6.1\]

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

it is equals to? please try @pootypie

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Mean is the technical word for AVERAGE!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really, guys, that's literally exactly what I said .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Michele_Laino I Got 6.65

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

it is too high. Please your sum is 26.6, are you agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that what it added to

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

@pootypie please, now you have to divide 26.6 by 4, because happened only 4 jumps!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

so, what you got, please? @pootypie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6.65

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
