OpenStudy (emmamink):

A.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Say you have 20 pieces of candy, and you wanted to share with yourself and 4 friends, so that is 5 people all together. You have to divide 20 by 5 to get how many pieces of candy everyone gets.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Correct :)

OpenStudy (emmamink):

this is because if you want to find out how long each piece of wood is and you cut 8 pieces from it, you would divide 48 by 8.
