2. The table below represents a linear function f(x) and the equation represents a function g(x). X F(x) 0 28 1 30 2 32 Part A: Write a sentence to compare the slope of the two functions and show the steps you used to determine the slope of f(x) and g(x). (6 points) Part B: Which function has a greater y-intercept? Justify your answer. (4 points) Part A: Find the Slope of f(x): 2 Find the Slope of g(x): 10 Write a sentence comparing the two slopes: Part B: What is the y-intercept of f(x): What is the y-intercept of g(x): g(x) = 10x - 25 g(0) = 10(0) - 25 =0 - 25 = -25 Which one is greater?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most of it is done but there are some parts in which I don't undertsand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what parts u didnt understand ill help u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on one sec ill be back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you! I need help in comparing the slopes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just have show the steps of f(x) and g(x) here it says it right here. Part A: Write a sentence to compare the slope of the two functions and show the steps you used to determine the slope of f(x) and g(x). (6 points)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you help me in them, someone else just told me the answer but I need the steps and I don't jknow how to do them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure one sec...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example unless you have numbers for me 1. f(x) = x + 4 Step 1: f(f-1(x)) = f-1(x) + 4 Step 2: x = f-1(x) + 4 Step 3: x - 4 = f-1(x) Therefore f-1(x) = x - 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that would be the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk do you have numbers for me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then i don't know if its an example then put something like those but if it needs a answer type thing then i need numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help another one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this can be for if you need to show an example 1. f(x) = x + 4 Step 1: f(f-1(x)) = f-1(x) + 4 Step 2: x = f-1(x) + 4 Step 3: x - 4 = f-1(x) Therefore f-1(x) = x - 4 this is if you need an answer but i need numbers 1. f(x) = x + {?}Step 1: f(f-?(x)) = f-?(x) + ?Step 2: x = f-?(x) + ? Step 3: x - ? = f-?(x) Therefore f-{?}(x) = x -{ ?}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um yeah whats the question

3. The table below represents the displacement of a duck from its nest as a function of time. Time (x) Displacement (y) (hour) from nest ( Miles) 0 7 1 29 2 51 3 73 4 95 Part A: What is the y-intercept of the function and what does this tell you about the duck? (4 points) Part B: Calculate the average rate of change of the function represented by the table between x=2 to x=4 hours? (4 points) Part C: What would be the domain of the function if the duck continued to walk at this rate until it traveled 227 miles from the nest? ( 2 points) Part A: What is the y-intercept? What does this tell you about the duck? Part B: What is the average rate of change from x = 2 to x = 4? Show your work. Part C: Write a compound inequality of the domain if he traveled 227 miles from the nest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok um what grade are u in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im in 7th im sorrry i don't really know this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks anyways
