@Secret-Ninja Do you think maybe you can help me with some problems?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

\[\frac{ 2p }{ 3 }-12=-2\]

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

You need help solving it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Well, the only variable is p, so you solve for p, the same way you would solve for x in any other equation. Do you have any guess as to what to do first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Umm..Add twelve to the -12 and the -2?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Yes... so you then get this \[\frac{ 2p }{ 3 }=-2+12\]

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

-2+12 is 10 so you get \[\frac{ 2p }{ 3 }=10\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright..And then do I multiply three to both sides?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Yes! good job. So that cancels out on one side, and 10 x 3 = 30 so.... \[2p=30\]

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Do you know what you do now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Umm....I feel like I remember what to do next but I just can't really? Like, it's on the tip of my tongue. I don't really know what to do next, no.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, do I divide two by each side?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

All you have to do is divided 2 by p because they are touching therefore they are multiplying, and you need to do the opposite (divided.) 2/p=p and 30/2=15

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

\[p=15\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, that's what I got..So 15 is the answer, correct? :)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Yes. :) Good job ^-^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay! :D Thank you. Do you think you can help with some other problems, too? :)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Sure, just remember to close this and repost because you are only allowed 1 question per post. Feel free to tag me in the next once its open. :)
