What is the probability that someone in the survey considered reading books or surfing the internet as the best entertainment value? Write the probability as a fraction. There is a chart that lists reading books at 22% and surfing the internet at 9%.

if we assume that you can't surf the internet and read a book at the same time, you can add those percentages to get the probability of surfing the internet or reading a book

So 31% or 31/100 in fraction form would be the answer? Each question that is asking the probability of this OR that....I just add the 2?

yes you can add them

but you need to assume you can't do both at the same time

also sometimes probability is given as a decimal, not a percentage
