OpenStudy (aripotta):

ok so we wanna know what x equals when y is 0. so we're going to substitute 0 for y. 1/3x + y = -15 1/3x + 0 = -15 1/3x = -15 x = -45

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so it's (-45, 0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh damn, i was far off. >.> Thank you sooo much for all the help >.>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (aripotta):

lol no problemo

OpenStudy (aripotta):

you want -2x + 5y = 10 into slope-intercept form (y = mx + b) so we're going to add 2x to both sides 5y = 2x + 10 then divide both sides by 5 y = 2/5x + 2 so we're looking for a line with a positive slope and a y-intercept of 2

OpenStudy (aripotta):

if we're looking at y-intercept alone, then we can rule out c and d

OpenStudy (aripotta):

since c and d have a y-intercept of -2

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so out of a and b, a is the line with the positive slope. remember that pic i uploaded earlier?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's "A" and yeah, i saved it for help on the final test thing.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

great :)

@AriPotta

OpenStudy (aripotta):

what's the equation of the line?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

the only way i know how to get an exact answer is to determine the equation of the line and testing out each option in the equation to see which one is true

OpenStudy (aripotta):

or you can just eyeball it.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

(1,1) doesn't seem to be on the line

OpenStudy (aripotta):

see?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

OpenStudy (aripotta):

it's close between choice B and D. i'd go with B

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i'm going to bed :) good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, thank you.
