I got B

Directrix (directrix):

I'm thinking that is the correct option. Let a = 4 and b = 5. 4>0 and b>0 y = -1* sqr(x-4) + 5 ---> Take a look at the graph here; http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y+%3D+-1*+sqr%28x-4%29+%2B+5

Directrix (directrix):

Click on real value plot. While y does become negative, the Domain and Range adhere to the problem requirements. It is dicey to make a general conclusion based on one example. But I think option B is correct as you posted. @HugoHuynh
