OpenStudy (confluxepic):

History has to be open to ongoing and changing interpretations because new information can change the way we look at things. New discoveries, translations, and interpretations of primary sources and secondary sources allow us to get new information which requires us to think about our previous understanding of history. So we have to be open to new information about historical events.
