The Three-Fifths Compromise, which was made at the Constitutional Convention, represented differences of opinions over which issues?

What I know of the Three-Fifths Compromise, is that it is a way of counting slaves for the total population. In other words, slaves were considered to be \[\frac{ 3 }{ 5 }\] of a person. It was a debate between delegates from the south states and the north states. This debate was important because the population would determine the number of seats in the United States House of Representatives for the next ten years.

That's all I really know of the topic.
