In order to determine if a triangle is a right triangle, the slope formula will need to be used. The slope formula can be used to show if two lines are perpendicular to each other. The slope formula is y_2 - y_1. x_2 - x_1 The only angle that appears to be a right angle is angle Z. This means the slope for segments YZ and ZX will need to be calculated. Find the slope of segment YZ by using the points (5, 6) and (6, 2) to substitute into the formula, and then simplify.
