When the Soviets blockaded Berlin, what was the response of the United States?

a hard question you are throwing into an openstudy math section. I wouldn't say though that they were "officially" or openly against the USSR, although they certainly felt competition against the Soviet Union. I don't really know this is what I think.

The crisis started on June 24, 1948, when Soviet forces blockaded rail, road, and water access to Allied-controlled areas of Berlin. The United States and United Kingdom responded by airlifting food and fuel to Berlin from Allied airbases in western Germany.
