Mathematics 18 Online
OpenStudy (1dfanatic):

2/3+7/8(Fractions)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 5/4

OpenStudy (1dfanatic):

@TheCoque how do i show it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 13/24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you have to find common denominators

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and in this case it would be 24 so to show it multiply the numerator and denominator to get the denominator of the faction to equal 24

OpenStudy (1dfanatic):

i thought the denominator would be 18?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you want to use 18 you can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the denominators, which is 24. you end up getting 16/24 and 21/24. ad them together but not the denominator. that adds up to 37/24. divide 37 by 24 and you get 1 5/4

OpenStudy (1dfanatic):

i got 9/18 is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you actually cant use 18 because 8 is not a factor of 18 so use 24

OpenStudy (1dfanatic):

then it'd be 9/24?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

den- 24 2/3* /24 7/8* /24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk i confused myself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

man the awnser is 1 5/4...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how you get 16/24 isnt it 6/24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 will go into 24, 8 times and then what is 8 times 2, 16. 16/24
