What resulted from the voluntary military service of thousands of Native Americans during World War I? Many Native American families moved from rural to urban areas. Native American veterans gained U.S. citizenship after the war ended. The federal government eased its restrictions on Native American land ownership. New treaties were negotiated with Native Americans granting favorable conditions.
