8th Grade Math What is the value of x? 3(x-2) + 5x = 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First thing we do is take the 3 and multiply it into the brackets. \[3x-6+5x = 18\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ConDawg has it for you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then we can add the x's \[8x -6 = 18\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take the -6 over to the other side: \[8x= 24\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide by 8 \[x = 3\]
