pick two points, then use the slope formula\[\frac{ y _{2}-y _{1} }{ x _{2}-x _{1} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so like... 2 n 96 and 4 n 192?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yea so (2,96) and (4,192) would be your points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, then i do 2-96? and 4-192?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no, follow the formula. points are set up like (x,y) so you're going to subtract the y's and subtract the x's. then divide the difference of the y's by the difference of the x's

OpenStudy (aripotta):

\[\frac{ y _{2}-y _{1} }{ x _{2}-x _{1} }\] \[\frac{ 192-96 }{ 4-2 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh, okay. I had it backwards on my paper i did 2-4 and 96-192. Bc i got what you were saying with like x-x and y-y i remembered that. then i reduce it right?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

it honestly doesn't matter which way you do it. i'll show you \[\frac{ 192 - 96 }{ 4-2 }=\frac{ 96 }{ 2 }=48\] \[\frac{ 96-192 }{ 2-4 }=\frac{ -96 }{ -2 }=48\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay. haha. Thank you. theres one more after this one. I'mma go answer it then let you check it. and by the way, i've got my grade up from an F to a D with you helping me. Thank you. It's so i can 1 transfer to public schools, and two get this cute little puppy

OpenStudy (aripotta):

aw! it's adorable :3

\(\Large \color{purple}{she's~a~cutie!}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I knowww <3 hehe. and did i answer that one right?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

mmm...you want a line that has the point (3,6) in it, and b does not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh, okay. Hold on. I'll go look at it again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C??

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome. I feel smart now. XD i did that test almost completely on my own. You're helping a lot with this tbh.
