Hey guys, I'm studying for a college final and I forgot how to do this. "Suppose the point (2,4) is on the graph of y=f(x) Find a point on the graph of the function y=f(x+5)+10"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, I flunked that part of math last year

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

f(x+5)+10 shifts f(x) 5 units to the left and 10 units up so (2,4) shifts to (2-5,4+10) = (-3, 14) notice how I shifted the point 5 units to the left and 10 units up
