What is the range of the function f(x) = 3x − 12 for the domain {-2, 2}? {3, 12} {-6, -18} {-18, -6} {6, 18} {12, 3}

OpenStudy (adamaero):

The domain is the set of all first elements of ordered pairs (x-coordinates). The range is the set of all second elements of ordered pairs (y-coordinates). Domain and range can be seen clearly from a graph: http://www.mathsisfun.com/sets/images/range-domain-graph.gif

I know the answer, and will tell you if you're right if you explain why you choose one of the answers. =)
