First Official question!!

There are different thermometers depending on where you are and in what unit you want your temperature. It can be either Celsius or Fahrenheit or it can also be Kelvin too. Mostly depends on what area of the world you live in.

But you probably mean uses. There are thermometers for liquids. There's one for room and outside temperatures. There's ever a thermometer for food! Doctors us thermometers when there doing a check up on you. So depends on what your trying to measure.
