What is the author trying to convey in this sentence? These are imitations of the manners of the mob, and are degrading to a gentleman.

Sentence: These are imitations of the manners of the mob, and are degrading to a gentleman. Important Vocabulary: Imitations, manners, degrading. I believe the author is trying to convey that these "fake" manners that mobs have, aren't proper, and therefore if a gentlemen were to behave this way, it wouldn't be polite and would... make less of him. If there was a paragraph your supposed to read, it might be helpful if you posted it. Also, I know you might be getting sick of this, lol, but welcome to OpenStudy. I hope you find the community helpful and to your liking.

Oh! Yeah, from the link that funnygy2 posted, the proper answer would be D. Or, "Bad manners and unruly behavior are below a gentleman's dignity."

OpenStudy (leilanilane):

*funnyguy2 Sorry!
