Percents help!

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

How do you find the percent of a number? (Ex. 26% of 78)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

multiply 0.26 and 78

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

So turn the percent into the decimal, and multiply by the number

hartnn (hartnn):

always remember \(x\% = \dfrac{x}{100}\)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

basically. if that doesn't work for you, you can do a proportion where\[\frac{ 26 }{ 100 }\ =\ \frac{ x }{ 78 }\] and just cross-multiply and solve for x 26(78) = 100x 2028 = 100x x = 20.28

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Thx!

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no problemo :)
