OpenStudy (aripotta):

2 is c

OpenStudy (aripotta):

3 is a

OpenStudy (aripotta):

4 is e

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i'll explain in a sec

OpenStudy (aripotta):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, was #1 right??

OpenStudy (aripotta):

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yes, 1 was right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, and wait, why is there only 4 lines going up??

OpenStudy (aripotta):

OpenStudy (aripotta):

it's just a dashed line, it's imaginary, where the line would be if we were to make the right triangles

OpenStudy (aripotta):

see how for #2, the third point would be at (8,6)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Umm, not really.. >.> this is confusing.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i don't know how else to explain that :/

OpenStudy (aripotta):

for each #, you're given two points along the line. the want to find a third point that would make a right triangle

OpenStudy (aripotta):

they* want

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so for #2, our points were (4,6) and (8,12). right triangles have a 90 degree angle, so we'll go straight across and down from the points to see where they intersect

OpenStudy (aripotta):

where they intersect will be our third point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, i know that part. Thats what i did at first, but none of them had the acutal answer that was in the answer choices.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

here's a look at #2 again

OpenStudy (aripotta):

(8,6) is where those two lines intersect, making it our third point

OpenStudy (aripotta):

(8,6) is answer choice c. so the answer for #2 is c

OpenStudy (aripotta):

make sense??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, kinda.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, it does. I just went and looked at it again. It makes sense nowXD thank you. There's 3 more.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dunno how to do this one either.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i'm kinda at a loss too unfortunately

OpenStudy (aripotta):

@TheSmartOne

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's fine haha.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

sigh. i guess he's not comin

OpenStudy (aripotta):

anyway, i'm gonna go to bed now. night and good luck
