Some simple things to do to try and pinpoint which graph is correct.
(1) Test for the intercept values. Set x=0 to find where the graph should cross the y-axis. Set y=0 to find where the graph should cross the x-axis.
(2) For an equation: y(x) = Ax^2 + Bx + C, you can find -B/2A. This represents the x-value of the vertex. You can substitute this x value back into y(x) to find the y-value and, therefore, the vertex coordinate.
(3) Look at A in the equation I gave in (2). If A is positive, the graph curves upward. If A is negative, the graph curves downward.
