ah, a tablature. We will have to discuss between two things, "independant variable" and "dependant variable" An "independant variable", or in other words the "x", is called that way because it does not depende on any other variables value and I can freely give it any I desire. The "dependant variable", or the "y" or "f(x)" is called that way because it's value, depends on the value I give "x". So, in the tablature, on the sections above we can see that there are some values for "x" listed, all you'd have to do is plug them in the equation to obtain the "y" value or the "f(x)". I'll show you an example with the first one: \[y= x^2+11x+24\] And the tablature tells me that I have to replace all the x's with -3: \[y=(-3)^2+11(-3)+24\] \[y=9-33+24\] \[y=0\] So, what this means is that when x is -3, y is 0. So in the tablature, under the value of x gives "-3" you write "0".
