Newton the cat is walking along a tightrope 25 feet in the air suspended between two poles that are 80 feet apart. Newton is illuminated by a spotlight 75 feet above the tightrope and the cat wears a harness that it attached by an elastic line to the same position as the spotlight. See the figure to the right. Newton walks at 1.5 feet per second a)How fast is Newton's shadow moving along the stage when Newton is three-quarters of the way across the stage? b) How fast is the length of Newton's elastic line to the harness increasing at the same time?
