i am not too good in this subject, but i can try to help The great depression was when the economy plummited

so, my guess would be that they lost most accounts money, causing the bank to close/fail

Because the great depression was caused when loans were introduced. Citizens borrowed alot of money from the banks in america and cause the country to lose lots of money because the citizens never paid the banks back and it then caused the stock market to raise prices on everything in the country.
