C. You see, the Kansas Nebraska act simply gave each state the right to decide if it wanted to be pro- or anti- slavery. So, people came from all over to cast their votes, because if they were to have an extra slave or non-slave state, it would upset the balance in the senate. Of course, the voters who rushed in wanted their ideals to be represented, and thus we had some pretty bad fights in the area over slavery. To sum it up, both groups (anti- and pro- slavery) came to support their beliefs.
