Baby birds grow quickly after hatching. Describe the process that allows their body cells to divide and make new cells. In your answer, include the steps of cell division beginning with interphase, moving through each phase of mitosis, and ending with cytokinesis.

My answer is this one. Tell me if its right or not. Baby birds grow as their cells make more cells through the process of cell division. During interphase, the DNA of a cell replicates (doubles) to make copies of all the chromosomes. The cell is ready to divide after it has completed interphase. Mitosis is the part of cell division in which a cell's nucleus divides into two identical nuclei. The first stage of mitosis is prophase, in which the the chromosomes condense into a thick X shape, the nuclear envelope breaks down, and the spindle fibers start to form. The second stage is metaphase, in which the chromosomes line up at the center of the cell. Spindle fibers attach to each side (chromatid) of the chromosomes. Next is anaphase, in which the spindle fibers pull at the centromeres to pull the sister chromatids apart. The spindle fibers pull the chromatids (now called chromosomes again) to opposite ends, or poles, of the cell. Telophase is the final stage of mitosis, which includes the formation of two new nuclear envelopes around each set of chromosomes. The last stage of cell division is cytokinesis, in which the cell membrane pinches in and divides the cytoplasm to form two new, identical cells.
