Simplify completely quantity 4 x squared minus 7 x plus 3 all over x squared plus 5 x minus 6.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Help, I don't know how to do this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x^2 - 7x+3/x^2 +5x - 6 first add all the ones with x together so we get -3x+3 <--- because 4x^2 -7x = -3x same to the denominator (lower part)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

those can be combined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry just a sophomore but anyway, forget bout that, imagine that division like is a giant minus, we subtract the ones similiar to each other so 4x^2, and the denominator has x^2 then u subtract that so 4x^2 - x^2 = 3x^2 and so on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not following... BTW here are my answer choices quantity 4 x plus 1 over quantity x minus 1 quantity 4 x minus 1 over quantity x plus 6 quantity 4 x plus 3 over quantity x minus 1 quantity 4 x minus 3 over quantity x plus 6

@Gulivr ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in your situation of the question, division = subtraction so it should be the last 2 options and i couldn't really think of a real answer but my educational guess would be the last choice sorry bout that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you just explain real quick why your guess was that one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was correct. thnx
