For which operations is the set {0, 1} closed? Choose all answers that are correct. A. multiplication B. division C. addition D. subtraction
Do you understand the concept of a closed set?
WILL GIVE MEDAL AND FAN
To clarify it a little, a closed set of numbers is that in which making an operation between those numbers..we get a result that is also on that set of numbers.
So which operations would you say make this set closed'
multiplication and division?
@Miracrown
you there? @Miracrown
Yes, for multiplication if we make 0*1 or 1*0 we get 0... and 0 is in the set For division, if you make 0/1 we get 0. But we can't make 1/0 To be a possible one we always have to be able to apply the operation in both ways 0 by 1 and 1 by 0 I mean
So, division is not one of them because of what i just said if we make 1/0 we get an absurd..thats why we cant say its a possible answer
ok so is it just multiplication?
Its multiplication and addition also, because if we add 0+1 we get 1... and if we add 1+0 we also get 1 and both results are in the set.
ok thank you!! a lot! can you help me with more? please
