Figure EFGHK is to be transformed to Figure E'F'G'H'K' using the rule (x, y)→(x + 8, y + 5):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on im not done yet

OpenStudy (igreen):

Just take EFGHK's points and add 8 to the x-value, and add 5 to the y-value. Like if E is (1, 2) You add 8 to 1, and 5 to 2, Giving you: (1 + 8, 2 + 5) = (9, 7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

O.O

OpenStudy (igreen):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx that was fast

OpenStudy (igreen):

No problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have a method for solveing these types of problems i would like to know it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen

OpenStudy (igreen):

?

OpenStudy (igreen):

What do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you solve them do you have a method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you get what im saying

Can you post the whole question? @Albany_Goon

OpenStudy (igreen):

It's going to ask like. Where will point __ be located?

Figure EFGHK is to be transformed to Figure E'F'G'H'K' using the rule (x, y)→(x + 8, y + 5): Which coordinates will best represent point K'?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, and from the picture it says that K is (-2, -3). If we want to shift it according to \((x, y) \rightarrow (x + 8, y + 5)\), we just add 8 to the x-value and add 5 to the y-value. \((-2, -3) \rightarrow (-2 + 8, -3 + 5)\) Can you add those? @Albany_Goon
