WILL MEDAL AND FAN Question 3. What is the slope of a line perpendicular to the line with equation y = 6x + 2? (Points : 4) –6 2 6

OpenStudy (adamaero):

Opposite reciprocal sound familiar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the perpendicular slope is the negative inverse of the slope of the original

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -1/m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm still confused :/

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

y = 6x + 2 the slope here is 6 or 6/1 a perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. All that means is " flip " the slope and change the sign. So the negative reciprocal of 6 is -1/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the slope of y = 6x + 2

OpenStudy (adamaero):

m = slope (the original slope for what msasu25 gave you)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you !

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sure thing :)
