It was her bedtime. She wasn't ready to sleep. Without changing the meaning, what is the best way to change these simple sentences into one compound sentence? It was her bedtime but she wasn't ready to sleep. It was her bedtime, but she wasn't ready to sleep. It was her bedtime she wasn't ready to sleep.

Choice A is basically a run on sentence. It has the word "but" in it, but it doesn't have a comma anywhere to be found.

C needs a semi colon in it, "It was her bedtime; she wasn't ready to sleep" The only logical answer is B.
