WIll you please help me? :) I will post the question below in the comments, i am really confused so if possible could you please show me how to work it out? ~Thanks Bree :)

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First turn the equation into slope intercept form

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

a

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

is the answer... ))

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

options r too easy...

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

I know that is what i have to do , but I can't figure out how to put it in slope intercept... ive been working on this all day im having a brain fart or something :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she wants it explained though i hope at least

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just get y by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

move everything else to the other side

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

ok i will try it again

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

what about the (10,8) does that have anything to do with getting it into slope intercept form?

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

wait a sec helping some1 else... will show up in few secs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@princeharryyy ill help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the point is not used until you get the equation into slope intercept form

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

ohk u r welcome @Ednac

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

okay well when i first worked out the problem (before i posted it) i got \[y= -2x - \frac{ 5 }{ 2 } \] is that correct?

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

hey miss! actually it is the same line which is already given....

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

u have to find the perpendicular line

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

is there any way you can show me hoe you worked it out? im lost (possibly)

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

*how

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

for any line given n u have to make a perpendicular .... the product of slopes of two lines is equal to -1
