the 36
yes both have x = 36
so if this was a function, you would plug in the input x = 36 the output is y = 6 or y = -6 which one is it? you can only have EXACTLY ONE output
because of this, this relation is NOT a function. Visually, you'll see these two points violating the vertical line test
